Is that a fist I see down there??

Just one of those random thoughts of the day. I was standing eating my lunch and looked out of the office widnows (we're 6 floors up). I looked down at the sign of the estate we're on and thought .. that looks like a first?  Am I bonkers?? Well you tell me as here is picture of said sign :

OK could also be a thumbs up (is that a point for a G+ share)? Or a robotic hand clenched as one big finger? Anyhow, that is my random thought of the day; as you can tell my day is such an exciting one today...

O well, one quite break from my daily stand-up presentation I am writing - how I can improve my scrum team as their stand-ups lack conviction..

Think I will have to start taking more photo's for this blog and other sites as so much fun stuff around these days - it seems that people are having fun with their signs. Do you have a fun one to mention? Leave a comment about any funny sign you have seen...

How to blog for money - eye opener

Before I begin, don't get me wrong I do have advertising links and Amazon affiliate stuff on my blog(s) as its would be nice to earn a little for content. Though I have to say I don't :-)  so I don't think earning from blogging is a bad thing but things can be an eye opener.

Out of an interest I decided to go to google.com and search for "how to blog for money"; surprisingly it returned 3,750,000,000 results... So 3.75 billion results from that simple search.. I mean, the sheer number of blogs and sites that have this is immense. With such a number of people in the entire world of the Internet trying to earn money you either have to be outstanding OR lucky, or expect little cash...

Needless to say we are not condoling clicking on links just for sake of clicking as this doesn't do anyone any good - advertising is only to be clicked on to find out more about item advertised. This blog post is more about opening peoples eyes that if trying to earn money for a blog then you may not get as much; if any; as you expect...

See the other 3,749,999,999 of you around :-)

How do you create an online store to make money

Well, in today's online world we all want to try and grab a bit of that pie. We all like to buy and sell online and making cash online has been a limited privileged or secret art form costing money to have you page created. That is until recent times. Now you don't even have to have stock to make money from sales online.

What am I talking about? Well companies such as Amazon now allow you to create a virtual store linking into them from which you earn a percentage for each and every sale that is done through your store. This offering from Amazon is called an aStore and is very easy to do. You go onto their page, join their affiliate program and create you aStore choosing what items you want (or categories of items) to sell. Once you've done that it gives you the code you put on your page (or a link if you choose) and that's it. Add that to your page and you have an online store.

More affiliate and associate schemes are becoming available now for every day users although you still have to spend time to drive sales through them. That is the bottom line in that you don't need products, you don't need to code, you just need to get people to go and buy.

If you want an example of what one of these stores can look like goto http://www.bracknellcomputerrepairs.co.uk and select the Store option. There you will see a aStore I setup. O, and if looking to buy please feel free - after all your buying from Amazon and helping me out too

I can see planes going to exotic places

Took a nice images out of my workplace today though didn't managed to capture any planes going in it. From my work window we can see Heathrow about 2 miles away or so and we can see planes coming and going. You can just make out around the middle of this picture.

Well if you can make it out with that refection from the windows behind.

I thought i'd take a photo though as this is one of those days its not actually raining which is probably rare for the UK  though I am sure many know that.

One thing I did managed to do is find out some old retro games and took at stab at one... well you can see my attempt at following YouTube link  My attempts at Hack

On Tech side (as many of you maybe coming here for the tech) on a personal note I recently upgraded my PC. I didn't go all out and get latest processors but did go from a 1st Gen i7 (920) to a 2nd Gen i7 (3820). After much research I fell onto the 3820 because it was cheap and liked the idea of quad channel memory. I could have probably got a Ivy Bridge setup for close on same money and dual channel memory is not that much slower but on some of the benchmarks I saw some of the graphics and audio stuff was quicker on 3820 so went with that.

Also I am not much of an overclocker so no need at the stock 3.6Ghz maybe quick enough although my motherboard I got (a Gigabyte X79 - UD3 is it???) does offer easy overclock settings - but all in all its very quick when rendering my videos on Premier Pro CS6 Ya..

Also went liquid again with the Corsair H60 - smaller block than my H50 had and quieter fan although pump slightly loader. My thought is for 50 GBP it was worth it as low profile so no issues with memory in the way as oppose to the larger metal heatsink fan combinations.

Mentioning Premier - I'm still playing with Cloud software having been using for 3 or so weeks. Almost my first month gone but all good so far. Taking me a while to get to know it, like finding out how to add title to latest video with link above. but would still recommend if want a budget way to get hold of Adobe full products.O and support is good as required a little the other day..

But there you have it; thought on Cloud, games been playing and upgrade done. Random blog now over; time to research actual subject for next one :-)
